Perhaps I can have my cake and eat it too...

I remembered seeing this little film a while back and managed to find it again. The wardrobes basically cut the room in two allowing a sleeping area and a wardrobe area. I'm wondering if we can use this idea in our long thin master bedroom to create a much larger walk in wardrobe.

Not sure whether I'd use the Ikea PAX carcasses, but I doubt if I could build similar for £60. The wardrobe area in the film is a narrow little corridor and ours would be much bigger. Perhaps even room for a frivolous chaise?

I need to pull up the rug and draw furniture all over the floor...

  1. Very interesting watch! I haven't seen these before, might have to watch some of the others too! Great idea to hide it behind the bed, go for it! :) xx

  2. Fab solution to your wardrobe dilemmas I'd say. My bedroom is not long enough (:

    1. This room is absurd! It's 8 foot by 19 1/2 foot! It's crying out to be split! x

  3. That sounds like a great idea! I'm sure you could make the dividing wardrobes/whatever a really cool multifunctional thing too. Maybe with an in-built dressing table bit or areas to display lovely jewellery or shoes? Words appear to be failing me a bit today but hopefully you get the idea :-) xxx

    1. I'm not really a proper girl as I don't do shoes or jewellery but heck yes, boot display and welly collection must be designed into it somewhere! xxx

  7. What a good idea, if your space allows, and I see that it does. And the demolition has already started? You're not wasting any time! Wardrobes first, then the chaise! xxxx

    1. I saw the perfect chaise in the fleamarket on Friday! The seller looked baffled when I said it would look lovely in my imaginary dressing room...xxxx

  8. Looks like a great idea - I wish I could do something similar. My bedroom is large but square with two windows on one wall, a chimney breast on another wall and the door on a third which means there is no easy way of dividing it up and so everything ends up against the wall leaving loads of space in the middle. Would love some kind of dressing area.
