It's been an odd sort of week. Other things have gotten in the way so I've not been up to much creating. I have made a start on the last bedroom door with the moulding and painting, but even that's been a slow process as I ran out of trim.
I was very keen to get down to the flea market this week having missed so much second hand shopping whilst I was ill.
It did not disappoint.
I've been after a vintage dolls cot to use as a cat bed(!) for a while and I finally found one. It's big, has a drop side so the boys can get in easily and Bad Bobby has really taken to it.
Big yawn. He's very happy in it.
Fat Freddy does not want to know. He's happy browsing the Internet and lounging on the sofa.
Which is just as well as the dollies cot would be a tighter squeeze for him!
Bad Bobby has a sore toe and is limping a little. Well, of course he does; it's a four day weekend so the vets is closed! We're hoping it might just get better on its own before the vets opens on Tuesday. If anyone's going to get into a scrape it's Bobby.
Happy Easter to you all. I know Easter is the start of the car boot sale season for many of you. Happy hunting!

What a marvellous idea! If I was a cat that's precisely where I'd curl up too. And it looks great, so much better than some nasty plastic tub. Jolly good show!!

Just Pirouette and Carry On...
Glad you approve and don't think me insane! Vintage is a way of life that must be inflicted on all family members in this house! x
DeleteOur cats used to sleep in the girls play cots and even there pram. Our youngest used to push them around like dolls. I hope bad bobby's toe gets better. Happy Easter x
ReplyDeleteAh, it's clearly a developmental milestone I missed out on. Still, it's never too late...
Deletehow funny, and he's even obliged by gettng in the cot which is more than my cat would do! Can't give you any helpful advice re the stairs but i'm sure you'll come up with a solution. I'm hoping to go to a boot sale on Sunday although it'll be freezing! Happy Easter weekend to you.x
ReplyDeleteOh look at him, he's just gorgeous! x
ReplyDeleteOh just look at him, he looks exceedingly happy there. Love the dolls cot, my own cot had stickers on it similar to yours. What gorgeous cats, hope Bobby recovers soon.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, that's the cutest thing I've seen in ages, I will now be trawling car boots for one for my cat! :)
ReplyDeleteBad Bobby looks very at home in his cot, the big baby! I hope his toe gets better on its own to save you the vet's bill. And so that he stops limping, of course! Fat Freddy is a bruiser, isn't he? We have 2 big fat cats, and 2 skinnies - all given the same food, go figure...
ReplyDeleteMy mum gave us loads of dire warnings about the cats getting into the baby's cot when we had our Eldest. We ignored her, and it turned out that the cats only ever showed any interest in the cot when it was baby-free. As soon as there was a small human in it, they ran a mile.
Enjoy your weekend! xxxx
Bad Bobby looks very much like our cat, Marmalade. Who won't sleep anywhere that isn't as high as me, so the back of the sofa, the window sill, the kitchen table ... Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat cat bed - every cat should have one of those :).
ReplyDeleteRe the glue - the trouble with paint stripper etc is that it can just end up driving the glue into the grain if you aren't careful. Chipping it off and then sanding is probably the best way to get rid of it although I have heard of someone using dry ice (if you can get hold of it) - it makes the glue very brittle and easier to remove.
Fab pics of your cat bed and the puss in it.I did a double take, your cat looks like our Marmalade too! I got a vintage dolls cot but not for her, its for my granddaughters baby dollies!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has never been into dolls. She loves little figures instead. So it's all Bobbys!
DeleteCould you try heating the glue with a heat gun (or hair dryer at a push) and scraping it off when it's more pliable?
ReplyDeleteThanks Pooky, it's an idea...don't fancy the fumes much though! x
